RE:CALIBRATE

Facts

Gun Stats.

In the US, the chance of dying from a gun-related incident is about 1 in 91. However, as suicides comprise 58% of all gun deaths, the chance of dying from a gun assault is lower, at about 1 in 238 [1].

This means that all the following are more likely:

Dying from a preventable injury (unintentional): 1 in 19 (over 12 times)

Opioid overdose: 1 in 59 (4 times higher)

Car crash death: 1 in 95 (2.5 times higher)

By unintentionally falling: 1 in 91 (2.6)

Surveys show women now make up nearly 25% of gun owners in the U.S.—a number that’s been steadily climbing since the 2010s.
