While mass shootings have increased over time[1], and the seriousness of the issue cannot be overstated, this trend has also contributed to a growing tendency to demonize both guns and gun owners.

Re:calibrating gun culture.cont.
While a healthy debate on gun control is necessary, many such discussions already exist. At the same time, gun culture has been prevalent since the founding of the United States.

In fact, Americans are getting into competitive shooting more than ever, as sports like 3-Gun[2], USPSA[3] (practical shooting), and precision rifle matches have seen big growth in the last decade.

Re:calibrating gun culture. In conclusion
With over 400 million [4] civilian-owned firearms in the U.S., a blanket ban and collection of guns is most likely impractical and unfeasible. 

However, as gun enthusiasts, we understand that by re:calibrate gun culture, from a tool of aggression to a safe, fun hobby, we can root gun culture in safety, responsibility, and respect.
